Sometimes It’s Just Not Our Fault
I grade all the projects for Luke Daly from Bold Puppy. He’s a good friend of mine from back home in Ireland, a country not exactly known for its sun!
It’s always him directing, Kevin the DOP shooting on their RED camera with the same lenses and myself grading.
What’s great about this is it helped me realised that sometimes the light is just better than others.
In the video Insight below I share with you a comparison between projects that are all part of a series of commercials for an insurance company.
They are all filmed outside while the players are training to be stronger, faster and better in both their everyday lives and on the pitch
The first part was filmed a little earlier in the year than the rest of them.
The light was duller and generally more wintery and when we graded the next two projects we had beautiful summer light.
The funny part about this Insight is not that I’m suggesting a fix because simply sometimes it’s out of our hands.
I graded the second and third projects in the film in hours and they look better than the first film that I spent over a day on.
Let’s jump over to the video below to find out more!
