Colorist Look Inspiration – Food Commercials

Apologies for posting two inspiration posts in a row. I am away on a holiday at the moment and thanks to dodgy hotel wifi I can’t post my video insight this week.

In this insight I’d like to follow up with my Colorist Look Inspiration series and turn attention to the world of food Mixing Light contributor and legendary colorist Rob Bessette took a great look at this in  ML072 but I thought it would be great to share my experiences also.

I spend a lot of my year working on food commercials.

In a way a food commercial is quite an easy thing to grade as it generally has to look like real life but a luxury and dreamy version of real life but it is normally quite hard technically.

As before I’ll start by sharing my essential techniques and then some commercials that I have worked on and some that I admire.
