Colorist Inspiration – April 2016

April 30, 2016

This is a premium color correction tutorial brought to you by mixinglight.com.

Series

NAB is over and a whole heap of new tools and toys have arrived for us colorists.

The perfect time for another installment of colorist inspiration.

This installment is slightly different and I’m going to try a new approach and feature things that are personally inspiring me this month and why rather than a run down of the best work I’ve seen.

I’d love feedback to see which style people prefer!

Let’s get right down to it!

Love getting to see the breakdowns on the Revenant. LOVE IT. That’s what I like to be able to see from people. I don’t need to know what specific buttons someone pushed but getting to see the mentality of what decisions they wanted to make and how they decided to approach them is what I love. I could watch those all day long.

We really do need to see more of that from the high end colorists

Would be so good if people shared more. I guess big post houses freak out when a colorist speaks about jobs in public

Do you know what he meant by ‘6 layered print LUTs’?
