No readers wrote in about this Culver City Onyx LED screen to tell me how they liked the experience. But I did find this write-up. While largely positive, at the bottom, it highlights one concerning flaw.
Typically, I’d suggest you send this article to your favorite DP. But some of them may wonder if you’re commenting on their work – so maybe just read this, file it away, and use it in pre-production conversations. The last paragraph is the money shot. But here’s how Cullen Kelly starts the article:
“Exposing to the right is one of the best ways to set yourself up for success in your color grade. But there is one critical detail that many of us overlook. Let’s take a look inside DaVinci Resolve and see if we can get a better understanding of exposing to the right.”
