From The Publisher

If you didn’t notice, I’ve made a change to the masthead of this Newsletter. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years, but it was so error-prone to misspellings, I gave up the one or two times I tried to do it. That is…

Proper credit is being given to everyone who sends in a story and has it shared.

Names are now added below the Publisher’s byline.

I’ve started doing it this week because the Mixing Light custom Newsletter Generator now takes the ‘via’ bylines and automatically sorts them into the masthead. Programmatically. Thanks to an assist from Claude Code.

And I want to give a special shout-out to Marc Wielage, who has been supporting this Newsletter for so long… he will get his very own super-special byline 🙂

Thanks, Marc!

Next Sunday is Easter.

The Newsletter will be off. So I’ll see you again on 12 April 2026. The pre-NAB news machine should be warmed up and running by then!

Happy Grading! I’ll see you in two weeks.

Sincerely,

Pat Inhofer

The Craft
Featuring the work of creative craftsmen, the theory of color, and industry news. Learn practical workflows, useful theories, and actionable insights from existing (and emerging) leaders and teachers in our industry.

I’ve gotten several of these emails in the past few weeks that free passes for the exhibition floor were ending soon.

Most times I tried to get them, the discount code they offered never worked. This time, however, no code was required, and I was able to register for free. I don’t actually plan to attend this year, but I like to be registered just in case.

I don’t know if this Sunday deadline is real, but if you’ve been putting it off, right now is a good time to handle it.

The Mixer is back at Virigil’s BBQ in 2026. If you’re going to be at NAB on that Sunday night, now’s a great time to grab these tickets. They tend to sell out most years.
