Day 4: 25 Insights in 25 Days 2019 New Year Marathon!
Dan Unfiltered: Start To Finish 16mm Style Grade
In part two of this 16mm style grade we jump right back in where I left off.
In the last Insight I had a great comment about how I looked at the scene with the crazy noisy shot.
We’ve all been there. It’s the last shot of the day, the light has faded that little bit too much but the performance is golden and the director wants to try and make the shot work.
It’s possibly the noisiest I’ve ever seen make into an edit but with a little fighting and a lot of experimentation, I think I managed to get it to work.
In this Insight I mainly focus on that section and get the matching into a (hopefully) decent place so when I do the final match pass I can focus on the important things instead of noise managing.
As always these behind the curtains are a little longer as I show the whole process in real time instead of pre-planning a look.
