How to Use Scopelink for Scopebox in Premiere Pro (and FCP X)

Team Mixing Light has been huge fans of Divergent Media’s Scopebox product for a long time.  Scopebox provides professional-level scopes, that are flexible, and powerful, in a package that is really affordable for Mac users ($99).

In this article, I’ll highlight some great Scopebox features, but also show you some new functionality in Scopebox called Scopelink that allows you to use a single system, instead of dedicated scope setup to have high-quality real-time scopes.

Scopelink allows you to integrate Scopebox with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Prelude giving you full-featured scopes within these software applications. It’s really cool.

UPDATE: ScopeLink on Final Cut Pro

Since this original recording, ScopeLink now supports Final Cut Pro on a single machine. The Premiere Pro functionality seen here is now also available for Final Cut Pro editors.

Update 2: Premiere Pro Scopes and Waveforms

In 2015 Adobe introduced the Lumetri panel and Lumetri scopes – both are a significant upgrade to the Premiere scopes shown in this Insight. Read more in this Insight. Scopebox continues to be upgraded as well and Scopelink, as described in this Insight, continues to be available as an alternative to the Lumetri scopes.
