Mixing Light Member Russ Lasson is curious about the opinion of other colorists and if they find it frustrating to color grade in an ACES pipeline?
Robbie, Joey, and Dan all do some screen sharing to demonstrate the choices they make when working in ACES – showing both DaVinci Resolve and Baselight in action. Plus Mixing Light members suggest tools for ‘sniffing’ hidden metadata in camera recordings (to help properly tag gamut/gamma settings for color-managed workflows).
At the end of this Mailbag, questions are asked, suggestions are offered by Mixing Light members on this call.
