Fusion – Expanding Your Colorist Toolbox

Fusion – Expanding Your Colorist Toolbox

October 6, 2015

Blackmagic Design Fusion is now free for everyone so make sure to add it to your colorist toolbox. Dan runs down his favorite tools so far

How many of you have tried using Blackmagic Design’s latest acquisition Fusion?

I have only started using it myself recently and have been quite impressed.

It’s also free!!!

With Blackmagic acquiring Fusion I have a feeling that we will see more and more fusion tools being integrated into Resolve

That got me thinking about the future and also how everyone now has access to Fusion and how could be used to assist in the color grading world.

As colorists, we are expected to not only grade our projects but come up with creative solutions to production issues.

I’m kicking off two series’ based in Fusion the first is some essential fixes that you can do in Fusion to either get better results than in resolve or are just much faster to do in Fusion!

The second will be the highest level beauty work that I can achieve which is a combination of Resolve and Fusion.

Fusion just has so much more accurate compositing tools that are necessary for uber high-level beauty work.

Here are some of the most common fixes that get requested in my grades that fusion does a great job of.

I’ll be doing deep insights on each of the topics below soon!
