From photochemical to digital post-production, sharing lessons learned
The changes in the video production industry are huge, ongoing, and disruptive. So, how do any of us cope or plan through this mess? I’ve been through this before. I know the drill, and my business survived while many of my peers failed.
How did we survive? It’s an old tale of business acumen. Change is always going to come. We should always study where paid work is being done today, as that constantly changes. From our study, we learn how to plan—to grow our skills for that work environment and choose the gear and software we need to do that work.
Studying and planning…right!
It’s not always fun, and personally, I never like doing this. But it is an absolutely required skillset in and of itself!
But this isn’t a theoretical process. It’s a very practical step-by-step thing to do. Do this properly, and from the results of this study and the plan process, you can create both a short-term priority list and a longer-term “road map” of where you wish to…become.
